Vines thrive in a temperate climate with abundant sunshine and sufficient rainfall. South Tyrol’s unique Alpine-Mediterranean climate,
with around 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, provides ideal conditions for producing wines of distinctive character.
One of the most precious gifts of our terroir is the remarkable difference between day and night temperatures. Warm days, together with the Ora wind blowing from south to north, allow the grapes to develop optimal ripeness and naturally accumulate sugars.
Cool nights, brought by the winds descending from the Mendola Massif, slow down ripening and help preserve the grapes’ natural acidity and aromatic compounds. These winds play a dual role: they quickly dry the grapes after rainfall, reducing the risk of fungal diseases, while also cooling them during the night.
